Re: Antique Wooden Armchair. (Vintage not quite antique : )

Art Deco Curule Chair (Savonarola) Chair Revival of Earlier European type chairs.

Est Circa: 1925 - 1940

Origin most likely US Eastern Seaboard.

Because of the weight I would consider it possibly made of oak. This was poplular at the time and durable / heavy.

This is a nice piece but I note some damage a crack. I would recomment you have it proffesionally repaired. Earlier pieces of this kind and European pieces normally have nice carvings in detail especially on the chair back.

I would estimate this chair in the proper market could go for $600 - $800 US.possibly more. As with any item markets fluctuate greatly. I would put it on your house insurance for $1200 - $1500 replacement value. This piece is considered vintage as it is less then 100 yrs old. Give it a few years and it will become antique.

Nice chair ... Please provide me with some feedback on my valuation.

Kindest Regards ..

Re: Antique Wooden Armchair.

It's not oak, appears to be maple with Mahogany veneer. As for value, unless it's a designer chair with a label in it's current condition I doubt it would top $100.00 at auction.
