New England winter scene painting

Category
Fine Art
Condition
Good
Description

This work depicts a New England scene in late autumn/early winter: fall leaves on the trees, but snow on the ground, and little horse-drawn buggies and New England churches and buildings tucked into the hills.  I can't quite tell for sure, but it almost looks like an image had been printed on canvas, and someone had then painted over certain areas (like the snow) to give it a hand-painted, textural quality. But the piece has a charm I can't ignore: a thoughtful composition, effective use of reds and oranges, and an occasional hairline crack to indicate it has aged handsomely. The work is framed in an ornate, heavy wooden frame. I've Googled the name "Edwara", signed in bottom right, but haven't found anything. If anyone has any ideas about who Edwara was, or anything about this painting, please let me know! Masterpiece or not, I love it, and I'm curious to know more about it.

Ceramic pair of dogs

Category
Ceramics and Porcelains
Condition
Excellent
Description

The pair, as you can see by the pictures have a couple of chips of painting missing around the mouth.  The sand texture also had a slight discoloration in a couple of places.  There are absolutely no ceramic chips anywhere.  The biggest problem, I imagine, is that there are no markings that show who made them.
