Interested in more information regarding Gramercy Park Lighting Co

Profile picture for user Slag Glass

Description

We recently purchased three slag glass lampshades. I believe they were all manufactured by the Gramercy Park Lighting Co., sometime in the 1970's. There was a poster here (GaryDo) who worked for the company, hoping he sees this and can tell me what the model were and the color name. Any other details would be appreciated.

Re: Interested in more information regarding Gramercy Park...

Well the type of glass used in the shade is called "Slag Glass", first used during the late Victorian period through the 1920's for lampshades. The reproductions like these really don't have much research data for them, short of finding a 1970's vintage Gramercy Park catalog, information might be slim for model and color names. There are websites that sell old catalogs for lamps as well as parts, but most specialize in pre World War Two lamps.
