Antique Silver Pendant with Unknown Red Stone from Germany

Description

Hello from Canada! I am 58 and received this pendant (original chain was lost) from my grandmother in Germany when I was very young. It's probably from the 40s. I don't know what the red stone is. Can anyone enlighten me as to what the crown stamp and number is (hard to read the number, unfortunately) on the back? This has been in the family all my life, so any info on this would be amazing! Thank you for your help!

It looks like SS835S to me. From what I’m seeing online it’s a silver purity hallmark that would mean 83.5% silver and 16.5%, copper. This page has some info on it https://www.starcojewellers.com.au/j-jewelry/jewellery-marked-835.html
I think you’d need to take it to a jeweler to see if the stone is synthetic or real.

Hard for my old eyes to make out the marking :) But hallmarks on jewellery are generally quite small or abbreviated and need a physical appraisal by a Jeweler to identify the mark and stone properly. Numerical markings generally indicate the precious metal content, eg. a marking of 800 would be 80% silver.
