3 Piece Server Set

By E Roberts, 10 November, 2018
Description

Working with mother's estate, ran across this set. Cannot find any reference to the artist that painted them

Category
China
Condition
Excellent
History
Was able to track that these were given as a gift to my mother by a member of the Japanese China
Painters Assoc.
Our friend Mika Nakashima would do world tours and would visit us here every two or three years. One of the people travelling with her painted these in mid 70's.
Still with last comment these may not have great value.

Re: 3 Piece Server Set

Your set is what's called "Whiteware" , pieces sold as blanks and decorated outside the factory by smaller decorating studios. Most of these blanks were made by potteries located in Limoges France from the late 19th through the early 20th century. The artists that painted them were often students taking pottery courses and undocumented. Values last peaked for pieces like this in the 1990's, now they often sell for under $25.00 each
