Rare antique greek orthodox icon

By Maximum, 7 December, 2024
Description

A Icon that my late mother bought in Greece in the 90’s. Back then she bought it for a bit over 2000$. I would like to know if anyone would have any details about this. Around what time this could have been crafted and what it could be worth today? Thank you for any tips, much appreciated.

There are a tremendous…

There are a tremendous number of fake icons that have come on the market since the 1980's and after the fall of the Soviet Union. Such items really require the services of a specialist appraiser who will need to physically examine it to determine its authenticity.
