EGW&S ( E.G. Webster & Sons) 3291 Waiters Tray

By jaydiane, 15 July, 2012
Description

This heavy silver plated rectangular silver serving tray has rounded corners, is decorated with floral scrolling patterns, is detailed with a raised rim,  and has shaped handles.

It needs a good cleaning and polishing!

The bottom is  marked "EGW&S  (E.G. Webster & Sons) 3291 [I] [S]  International Silver Co."

I believe the pattern is called "Du Barry-Chased" but I'm not sure. That pattern listed the tray as being made by Webster Wilcox with the same 3291 item number on Replacements.com.  Since Webster Wilcox was established in 1961 I believe my piece with just the Webster name to be a lot older.

This piece measures approximately 21.5" L x 16" W not including handles. The handles bring it to about a total length of 27".

The tray is heavy and quite ornate with no feet. There are normal wear scratches, etc

I would appreciate any info re value, when it was made etc
