Description
This item is a miniature oil on canvas painting depicting a Latin-American arched courtyard
with a door open on the opposite side and a flowering bush on the left.
There are also flowers next to the door.
The painting looks very old, likely antique.
The medium is canvas stretched on board, attached with old-fashion nails at the back.
It is signed in the right left corner, but I did not manage to identify the artist, looks to me like Les/Ros Sorensz, but not sure.
The frame is made of solid heavy wood with natural imperfections, probably hand-made, imitates a window opened into the courtyard. Very charming piece.
Miniature Oil Painting of Colonial-Style Courtyard
Artist Signature:
The piece appears to be signed “Fco Sorensz” or possibly “Fco Soarez” or “Fco Sorenzz”. The “Fco” is likely an abbreviation for Francisco, common in Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries. However, the artist does not appear in major listed art auction databases, suggesting this may be the work of a regional or folk artist, possibly Latin American, rather than an internationally recognized figure.

Based on materials (canvas type, paint, nail mounting), the piece likely dates from 1970–1990. The aged canvas and oxidation on the metal nails suggest it is vintage, but not antique (i.e., under 100 years old).
