Description

I purchased this metal vessel at a yard sale in CT ,USA approx. 15 years ago and have always wondered what it is. It has very interesting carving all over it which appears to be from another century but I don't know if it is very old folk art or a newer item made to look centuries old.

Re: metal vessel of some kind with interesting carving

A lot of silvered copper pieces like this are from the Middle East, very few have any markings to identify them. Many pieces like this were brought back by people stationed/working  in the Middle East and sent home as gifts to family and friends. You pretty much need a specialist in Middle Eastern Metalware to determine an origin and vintage.
