R.W. Archer Rochester, N.Y, produced a full line of commercial furniture such as office stools and dental chairs. This is a nice Victorian example and could date anywhere from 1860-1874. There has always been a market of antique Barber chairs, but demand and prices peaked in the early 1990's for Victoriania across the board. Strangely enough, the older Victorian Barber chairs are actually less in demand than the more standard steel and porcelain Barber Chairs made circa 1890- 1930.
