Shelby Williams Midcentury Wood and Cushion Chair

By kritty28, 7 January, 2015
Description

I have a chair very similar to this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Shelby-Williams-Los-Angeles-CA-Wood-Cha…

Mine is black and walnut and in much better shape than this one ... it's almost perfect with the exception of one small white paint scuff.  The back of the backrest on mine is wood, not upholstery like this one.  This chair is selling on eBay for $39.99, but all of the other Shelby Williams chairs I am seeing online are selling for much, much more, some for several hundred dollars.  Again, the chair in the pictures above is in much worse shape than mine.  Mine is nearly perfect with only one scuff.  The bottom of my chair still has the tag that says not to remove under penalty of the law.  It also says "Physics USU" because the chair was used in a physics classroom at a university.

Re: Shelby Williams Midcentury Wood and Cushion Chair

I too, have 4 of these chairs.  Two are yellow and two are orange.  I posted on this site about a month ago and I haven't had any answers.  I cannot find one like it for sale anywhere.  I also emailed Shelby Williams, but received a standard answer of "we do not have information on older furniture."

While I still haven't found any for sale, I found a picture from a 1971 Shelby Williams catalog.  Of course it could have been made in earlier years, but this is the only catalog I have found.  https://goo.gl/images/Qe9qBy

Please let me know if you ever find out any pricing information.
