1960s AMP Chevrolet model truck 3 in 1 kit

By twisterab, 2 January, 2014
Description

I am looking for a price on this 1960s AMP 3 in 1, 1/25 scale model customizing pick up truck with trailer and engine. You can either make it custom or stock. The box is in wonderful shape corners are in great condition box has no issues. The plastic model inside is brand new in bag all plastic pieces are still attached. Includes the original stickers for the model truck. This is a 1960s Chevrolet model number 7960. I have searched all over to find some sort of information about this and have had no luck. I have been able to find a empty box on ebay for about $ 70 and a built truck but nothing about the whole kit brand new. Found a box and built truck taken apart for around $150, but nothing anywhere else. Any information would be great.

Re: 1960s AMP Chevrolet model truck 3 in 1 kit

This is actually an SMP (Scale Model Products, a pioneer of plastic models purchased by AMT in 1961) model and does seem to be rare, especially in the condition of yours.  As you've mentioned, partially assembled models and packaging seem to be the only readily available versions with no complete sets to be found.  To the right buyer this item could be worth $250-300.

The $250-300 is way over the true value, I had two of the exact same kits and sold for $100. Its the brand name that hurts it, its not like a Revell kit. $50 is a good price for what it is,sorry.
