Tea Set VA Portugal- What is best way to sell/ideas of value?

By wendellynn, 22 August, 2012
Description

HI. I have a tea set that is marked VA POrtugal and contains 9 tea cups and saucers, covered sugar bowl, second covered bowl, creamer, teapot, uncovered bowl and saucer and two larger plate/trays. The pattern seems to be a rose garland w/ red, gold, green and black as the pattern colors. It is hand marked EA 20 on the creamer and on the teapot. Everything seems in good shape with light wear to bottoms but no major chips. Is this something I should sell on Ebay or is this good enough to bring to an antique store? And if so what might be a fair price?

Re: Tea Set VA Portugal- What is best way to sell/ideas of...

This set was made by Vista Alegre, Portugal, this comapny tens to make reproductions of Paris and Meissen Porcealin . Based on the design I'd have to say it dates from the 1930's as it has elements of the Art Deco style to it. That said the market is currently flooded with early to mid 20th Century china at the moment, we often see whole sets like this go for under $300.00 at auction.
