W. S. George Dishware (2nd Submission)

By bdwagner, 14 July, 2009
Description

My husband bought me a set of dishes about 10 years ago in an antique shop. The information I got with them said Early 1930's, "Pink Delphinium" advertised as "delicate and feminine" due to the antique "yelo-tinge" glaze that was used.

I have looked at many web sites and cannot find this particular pattern anywhere.

I have 6 ea of the following:

Dinner Plates
Small Bowls
Cups and Saucers
Small Plates

Re: W. S. George Dishware (2nd Submission)

have you tried replacements.com? they have extensive listings. also if you DON't find your pattern, you can register it for free... and they will identify it for you if you send pictures. you can get an idea of what its worth by checking their prices once its identified, they are way overpriced so whatever their price is, cut it in half or by a third and thats about what you could expect to sell it for. you can also sell your stuff to them (if they are buying, alot of times they arent... but expect to get very little from them AND you have to pay shipping). But at the very least, you can get your plates identified for free. Call the 800 number or send an email and they respond quickly (within a day usually).

Good luck!

Re: W. S. George Dishware (2nd Submission)

Thank you for your reply. I contacted Replacements.com and the reply from them was that they have never seen this pattern and they could not give a value on it or have a buyer because they have do not carry this pattern.

I was a bit confused because if they do not carry this pattern, does that mean that it is a rare pattern?

Thank you for your reply and I wish that I could have gotten a bit more information from them. Do you have another recomendation?
