Re: Set of 6 Silver Goblets

"The Derby Silver Co. was founded in Derby (originally Birmingham), Conn., in 1873, and it specialized in making silver-plated hollow ware. The term "hollow ware" refers to items such as this.

In 1898, the plant merged with the International Silver Company, a consortium of Connecticut silver companies. At that time the Derby Silver Company works was known as "Factory B". Thus, as a rule of thumb, items with the “Derby Silver Company” logo most likely date from the nineteenth century, while items with the International Silver Company logo, either Derby or Factory B, are from the twentieth.

A victim of the Depression, the plant closed in 1933."

Re: Set of 6 Silver Goblets

Thank you for this information. That would explain why my mother had them i suppose. (She was born in 1921 and lived up North for most of her younger life. Would you know somewhere that I could find the value of these? Thanks in advance, Michelle
