An Alfred E. Neuman type this print is titled "Sammy". It is Copywritted 1941 and signed Maurice Goldsmith with the numbers 4/41. Under the title appears to be a piece of paper glued on which says typewritten "SURE I VOTED FOR ROOSEVELT". To the left of the title is hand written "To my good friend Chuck Rowan from Lt. James Miller Somewhere in Africa" To the right of the title is hand written "Lt. J.F. Miller Vis. Eva Cowaan Vis. Lt. Moss S.N.A.F.U. + Good Luck". The print has been folded at one time and suffers the fold marks. There is darkening to the upper left side and the lower left side middle. It is in an old wooden frame and the glass is cracked. I have not removed it from the frame yet.
I have a Crestcent cast iron cooking stove that I received from my Aunt years ago. I don't know how old it is or how much it cost her to buy it. I have had it for about 17 years. I know that she had it when I was a kid.
Saucer has scalloped edges with gold wreaths on edges. The outer area is turquois blue with solid gold color in cup indentation. Saucer was dropped and a few pieces broke off. I was able to completely repair it but cracks are visible on bottom of saucer.
Cup is solid turquois on outside with gold wreaths around edge. Inside is solid gold color with a bunch of fruit ?decopaged? on the bottom inside. The cup is in excellent condition. No cracks or chips, small areas of gold rubbed thin.
