Wooden carved shelf, Satyr

Category
General Antiques and Collectibles
Condition
Excellent
Description

Small wooden shelf that has been in the family for at least 35 years. I think it may be older.  Carved face of a man.  Looking through Google images, seems to be a Satyr, distinctive ears, like goat, beard etc. Wood looks possibly oak, no visible markings of artist.  Measures approximately 10in x 8in.

Lexington Desk

Category
American Furniture
Condition
Fair
Description

My father recently purchased a house and in the back garage I came across a large, very heavy desk.  After looking it over a few times, one of the drawers has "Lexington" carved into the inside of it.  The desk appears to be made of cherry wood.  It also has a heavy sheet of glass to cover the top that fits perfectly.  Unfortunately, the desk isn't in the best of shape, but there is no severe damage (cracked or split wood).  The damage is mainly small scratches and stains which i believe could possibly be fixed.

I have tried scouring the internet to find out more about it, but have been unsuccessful.  I would just like to know as much about it as i can.  Please let me know if anybody knows anything about this desk.. Thanks!
