Profile picture for user Lovejoy
By Lovejoy, 17 July, 2020
Accurate Description of Item
Modern Hong Kong Cloisonne Urn
Appraiser Remarks
This vase was new when purchased and similar examples are still in production, most were actually made in Taiwan rather than China. From 1949 to the mid 1970s there were no trade relations with mainland China, which much trade in decorative items through both Taiwan and Hong Kong, then under British control. The island of Taiwan was a major source for low cost decorative items during the 1960s. Values for these modern examples are very modest compared to the earlier Chinese and Japanese examples.
Estimated Value
$150.00- $300.00
