antique tobacco pipe "From Dublin"

Profile picture for user birdwatcher
By birdwatcher, 14 January, 2020
Description

This pipe came from the estate of a woman that was 100 years old and passed away a couple of months ago. It was her father's so I am guessing it is at least 100 years old. I have researched the hallmark but found nothing. The only identifying information is the carving: shamrocks and "From Dublin".

I am looking to sell it for the estate. Any info will help.

Category
Tobacciana
History
I believe it was carried by a man in WWI who served in the Canadian 78th Winnipeg Grenadiers

Re: antique tobacco pipe "From Dublin"

Thanks Mark....I was hoping it to be a Petterson, but I am still questioning the hallmarks on the collar, and the only figures carved on the bowl is the shamrock?

Re: antique tobacco pipe "From Dublin"

Hoping the person at that link can help you. Also there was one other with similar carving but different shape of pipe here https://dadspipes.com/2019/08/09/restoring-an-irish-made-bpl-carved-bent-bulldog/

Between these two if you can make contact with them maybe you can get more answers, hope so. Post again if you find out more.
