International was originally formed during the turn of the 19th Century, a conglomerate of several companies into one, including Rogers. If is not marked "Sterling" or the numerical equivelent "925" (Sterling is 92.5% silver) it's silver plated. Comparble pieces often sell at secondhand shops and Goodwill's for under $20.00
