Accurate Description of Item
Antique His & Hers chairs engraved with a coat of arms
Appraiser Remarks
Quarter Sawn Oak furniture of this type tends to date from the first quarter of the 20th Century and was based on late Gothic designs, it was made on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, Belgium, Holland and Germany being three of the main European centers of production. Furniture of this type was seldom well marked by the manufacturer, often all that was used was a paper label. Values depend on how close in design it is to the originals and the current condition of it. Demand for furniture of this type last peaked during the 1990's and has been in some decline since then, what you paid is about what their retail value would be currently.
