Re: Lane and co tv lamp

Lane and Co - California ... TV lamps  seem to have the collectors appeal. Because of the look and practicality they are quite collectable. The company operated from !950- 1960's. They had moved their location a few times during this period within California originally in Los Angeles. Not alot of history is available on this company. The earliest pieces Ive found date to circa 1950 but the company was in operation years earlier. I would date this piece to the later part of this period.

Vintage Lane and Co. TV Lamp   Origin: Van Nuys California

Circa: 1955 - 1958

Est Value: $90 - $140 US depending on market demand. Many of their pieces are birds and animals so this one is a little different / unique in its appeal. I would put a replacement value on it of $200 - $350 US under your house contents insurance.

Thanks for sharing this unique piece of history. Please leave me a reply on my valuation. It is appreicated.

Peace Always

Re: Lane and co tv lamp

Tv lamps had their start actually as Radio lamps, jumping the market when Radio began to fade as the center of family entertainment. Values for them depend a lot on the rarity of the piece, the more common varieties by Lane (Mallard Ducks) often sell at auction for under $50.00, the horses can sometimes go for over $275.00 at auction.
