Accurate Description of Item
One Louis XV Style Curio Cabinet
Appraiser Remarks
Your Cabinet is in what's referred to as in the "Louis XV Style". This style was extremely popular, originally produced in the mid 1700's it was revived during the turn of the 19th Century, the 1930's and again in the 1960's.
The best pieces were made in Europe, but furniture of this style was also produced by nearly every major North American furniture manufacturer.
Your particular piece appears to be of European manufacture dating from the second quarter of the 20th Century. The European examples differ from the North American varieties in that they still hand built such pieces well into the 20th Century, such pieces were often marketed through high end furniture dealers in New York. Very few of these pieces carry any markings to identify a maker.
Values last peaked for furniture like this back in the 1990's and has been in decline since that time.
