Accurate Description of Item
One 1930's Jacobean Revival Style Draw Leaf Table and Chairs
Appraiser Remarks
Based on your images of this suite, it is in a style often referred to as "Jacobean Revival". The style getting it's name from the fact it was loosely designed to resemble furniture made during the reign of James the 1st ( 1603-24), but uses design elements found on furniture made until the late 17th Century under the reigns of Charles I and Charles II as well. Jacobean Revival furniture has been in continuous production in both England and the USA since the last quarter of the 19th Century ( Circa 1875), Production for pieces like this seems to have peaked before World War two (1939). Most of these suites were imported from Britain during the 1980's in container loads purchased by Antique Wholesalers and sold at auction or directly to Antique Dealers. Demand for these set peaked in the 1990's, value since then have declined a great deal.
Estimated Value
$500.00- $750.00
