Antique lamps

Accurate Description of Item
One Pair of Art Nouveau Figural Lamps
Appraiser Remarks
Lamps like this are in the Art Nouveau style, which peaked in popularity about 1900 and gradually faded from fashionable before World War One (1914-18). They were as you suggest of two types, those originally made as lamps and those that used existing figurines that were converted into lamps at a later date. The figures of these two lamps are very similar to those produced by Germany potteries such as Royal Dux, if there are any markings at all the will be under the base, which is often covered with felt or a separate base of some sort, usually metal or wood.
Demand for lamps like this last peaked in the 1990's, along with the demand for other Victorian furnishings and Decor, since that time values have declined a great deal. Currently pairs of comparable lamps often sell at auction for under $180.00
Estimated Value
$250.00-$350.00 for the pair.
