Re: Silver water pitcher

if it was silver it would be marked to indicate the silver content via hallmarks here is a link to Italian silver marks to give you an idea ofr what they look like

Re: Silver water pitcher

This is actually pewter, I have the same one, mine is 14", they came in two sizes 7" and 14". They were made in Italy, and are "Stash-box" pitchers. The top part of the pitcher detaches from the base, where valuables would be "stashed". They won't hold water for very long, as it will leak like a sieve at the connection of top to base. The bottom should show 95-100, that is the pewter, it indicated the amount of lead to metal alloy. I have see them for sale from $45 - $215. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available. No automatic alt text available.v
