Profile picture for user Lovejoy
By Lovejoy, 16 January, 2017
Accurate Description of Item
One Pair of Victorian Rococo Centerpiece Epergne
Appraiser Remarks
Vases like this were meant to be used as table centerpieces to hold flower arrangements, Rococo examples like this tend to date from the 1860's through the 1880's. Most are unmarked, if there are any markings at all they tend to be on the glass vase inserts. These are what are generally called "Epergne", a type of centerpiece meant to hold flowers. Comparable examples were made in both Europe and North America, but the majority of examples like these tend to be European. Values for pieces like this last peaked during the 1980's to early 1990's when Victorian style decorating was going through a revival, demand and values since then for Victorian items taking quite a tumble.
Estimated Value
$3.00- $600.00
