Re: Cedar Chest

Huge numbers of these chest were made from World War One till the early 1850's by companies such as Ed Roos, Bloom and Lane. The style of yours could date from the late 1930's to early 1950's, but without lengthy study of old catalogs it's impossible to determine who made yours. At auction these generally sell for under $100.00.

Re: Cedar Chest

I have heard that the serial number is a production date,  with every 2 digits backwards, so 350310 is year: 1953 day: 30, month: Jan.

I have this same model with serial number 352120, so mine is Feb. 12, 1953 production date. My parents were married in June 1955, so that would fit.
