Chippendale Settee Appraisal

By chopstix1224, 4 December, 2012
Description

Hello I have a Chippendale Settee that Im needing appraised. Im selling it for my cousin who got it from the law firm she works at when they redecorated.  I know they bought it at an auction and paid several thousand dollars for it a long time ago. Its in excellent shape other than a stain on the upholstery. Im sure whoever buys it will probably reupholster it anyway. I have looked online for a week now and cant find any exactly the same to know what period its from, English or American, how much its worth  etc. I looked all underneath it and there are no names or numbers to help me either.  Thank you so much for your help!

Re: Chippendale Settee Appraisal

Morning,

It can hours  to weeks or longer sometimes depending on how much research is needed and the knowledge of the other participants on this site.If you really need an aprraisal fast you can submit it and pay the fee(usually between $40-$80 that I have seen) and get your response much faster.I read typically within 24-48 hours.  Good Luck!  =-}   Chrissy

Re: Chippendale Settee Appraisal

Pieces like this are nearly always "Centennials", reproductions made during the late 19th Century of Chippendale originals. You'd really need to have this piece physically appraisaed to determine what you have.
