From the looks of the pics this is not more bone then ivory. The grains are just not there.

Ancient Greek and Roman society are accredited with the initial folding knives as well as knives with ivory blades. It's thought that this was an effect of the status of cut fruits - ivory blades banned the relocate of the flavor of rust or metal.

Both the Greek and Roman society skillful ivory statue to make big quantities of high worth works of art, costly religious objects, and ornamental boxes for costly objects. Ivory was often used to form the white of the eyes of statues. Since the ivory ban various southern African countries have claimed their elephant inhabitants are steady or rising, and argued that ivory sales would support their protection hard work.
