Re: GORGEOUS Antique Mirror

Yes, very nice. More than likely it is a silvered mirror, from your details and age. Put your finger on the mirror, can you see the whole tip of your finger, half or not? That is a very good, helpful way on determining the age of your mirror. When you see your whole fingertip, it is old. I have Sev.reference books, that help me w items like yours. Also, the frame can tell a lot, age,etc...esp.if you are sure it is orig.frame, that will aide in your appraisal. Good luck, if I don't see anyone post any help for you, I will pull out my books and see what info.I can help u with. At least that would give you more to go on.

Re: GORGEOUS Antique Mirror

The veiw of th back of the mirror would tell us more regarding when it was made. based on the from it l,ooks like it dates from the turn of the 19th Century, but similar mirrors ahve never really been out of production since then. If you could post some images of the back of this mirror I could tell you more. In some cases mirrors with be dated on the back of the silvering.
