I found this in an old frame. It is aobut 6x8 inch and might have been the front of a card at one time. It is yellowed due to how it was backed but just wondering if anyone knows about it. thanks.

I have an old print of this hanging on the wall in my living room, it's my favirite,,I began to research it after I saw it used as a question in Jeopardy. whats interesting is you can go to the place in Holland where this was painted and it looks very similar today over 3oo years later.
If you are interested he was a student of Jacob van Ruisdale between 1657 and 1660. (Ruisdale was a landscape artist in Haarlem.) It is really easy to identify a 17th C Dutch landscape or seascape. (You know they became extremely wealthy through trade...hence The West Indies Trading Co. and East Indies Trading Co.) Just look for a huge sky with puffy clouds. Only the bottom fourth will have land or sea. They also used varying degrees of grey and brown....not alot of bright colors.
