Antique rocking chair

By squibbsgirl, 18 September, 2009
Description

Chair still functions. Has springs underneath that make it rock. Has maroon velvet material which is worn on the arms. Can't find any identifying marks. It looks like there could be some writing in the wood, but it is so old, I can't make it out. I am curious as to how old this chair is and where it originated. If it helps, my great grandmother lived in Michigan, so that may be where it was originally purchased unless it went back farther than her in the family. I am thinking it has to be at least 150 years old.

Re: Antique rocking chair

Hi squibbsgirl,
We have the identical chair in dark green material. We were wondering if you would know what it is worth or how we can get more information about the chair? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
