>>OCCASIONAL TABLE ?? HELP !! WAS GOING TO REFINISH, BUT DON'T WANT TO TOUCH IT UNTIL IT'S VALUE IS KNOWN !!!

By lisafrisch, 28 August, 2009
Description

Dark wood table, table top it's self has a thin layer of veneer atop of wood and some edges are loose. Has beautiful detail work around rim of table.
Trio of spindles on either side, 2 small drawers that measure 17.5 wide x 16 &3/4 long x 2.5 inches in depth.
I picked this up for free from a young man who just bought a home and was cleaning it out of items left behind to get ready to refinish. (suspect it was an estate sale)
I was acutally looking for free pieces to refinish, but now wonder if this might be worth something. So I dont want to touch it until I know for sure.
PLEASE HELP !!!!! IS THIS WORTH SOMETHING !! EVEN $100 BUCKS?

Strip away ;~) It's a 1920's-30's bit of stuff. These hall tables are popular decorator pieces, properly repaired shops in my area sell these for $400.00- $600.00.

Hi there,

Thanks so much for a quick response. I just want to clarify if you don't mind. So is this pretty much worthless as it is now? Or might a local antique dealer be interested. If so, what would you ball park it's vale at unfinished. ( I know you said $400.00 to $600.00 finished assuming I understood you)

Thanks again and have a great week end
Lisa

Lovejoy is right....strip away.
You would most likely outstrip any profits if you have it PROPERLY repaired! (Veneer-repair done right is quite expensive...)

If you can get $100 for it, you might want to take the money and run!
