Can you tell me about the petal and how it is installed into the machine. I have the exact same model though there isn't any petal.

My sister just picked one of these up for me at a flea market. It doesn't have a pedal (at least mine doesn't). It has a knee control on the right hand side if you're sitting facing it. Look under the sewing machine and you should see a paddle that flips down by your knees when you sew. Works the same way as the pedal only you use the side of your knee and lean into it.
