Hitchcock Rocking Chair

By robert7101, 4 May, 2009
Description

I have a beautiful antique Hitchcock rocker for sale in excellent used condition.
It has the classic black laquered finish with a unique and desirable "harvest" stained seat.
The golden stenciling stunningly displays a bowl of plums centered in between two fruit filled cornucopias and accented by wheat and floral details.
The signature/ stenciling on the back of the headrest reads: L. HITCHCOCK, HITCHCOCKSVILLE, CONN.
The "N"s are written backwards and there is a registered trademark symbol as well.
This is a fine antique and one of the nicest designs I have seen.

Re: Hitchcock Rocking Chair

Based on your description of the mark and the image this is not an antique, it's a modern reproduction.
