Heritage Desk

By kabijo, 27 April, 2009
Description

I recently purchased this Heritage desk but unfortunately my husband does not like it. I may re-sell it and was wondering what its value is.

Re: Heritage Desk

For some reason this website will not allow me to enter in the rest of the information for this desk so I will add it here. The desk has 'Heritage' stamped on one of the drawers and the number 299-710-1 underneath another one of the drawers. It is about 62 inches long and almost 30 inches tall. The previous owner said he paid $1,500.00 for it over 20 years ago. I am wondering if it was made by Drexel Heritage - I'm aware of the companies history - and what collection it might be from. Thanks!

Re: Heritage Desk

Based on your images this is a fairly modern 20th Century piece, loosely based on 18th century Louis XV/French Provincial furniture. The style gets revived about every 30 years it seems, currently it is not in favor with the public. I don't know who made it, but it's likely American or if Heritage made it. At auction these go for about $300.00- $500.00.

Re: Heritage Desk

Thank you for the information. I received an email from Drexel Heritage yesterday stating "the desk appears to be from a collection called Tour de France - this collection was in production from 1970 until 1974". A very nice email from customer service including 5 attachments from their marketing department.
