Re: reofect painting by fredrick waugh titleled the breakers

Frederick J. Waugh
(1861 - 1940)

Reofect was in business between 1900 and 1950. Their prints originally cost between $150 - $300. The company went out of business because it was a very costly process to create these prints. The process included using oils and metals to create the copy. They are not really considered paintings or prints, but, reconstructed pieces of art using prints with a special type of varnish over it to make it look similar to a real oil painting. Reofect pictures can sell for as little as $20.00, and can be offered for sale for as much as $200.00. It could be a few years before they start to climb in value.

Re: reofect painting by fredrick waugh titlehed the breakers

I have just bought a picture marked reofect painting and the artist is L. Jambor. the painting is Petit Point. Thank you for explaining what reofect paintings are. Can they be cleaned and if so how. mine is very yellowed which is ok bc I like the old look but I wish it was a little brighter.
Thank you
sandy
