Chandelier

By rellimdr, 24 March, 2009
Description

This was hanging in the dining room of the 88 year old home we bought recently. I know the Chandelier isn't near that old though because Luminaires site says they've been in buisiness 35 years. Can anybody find any info on this and maybe tell me what kind of materials it's actually made of and maybe kind of what it's worth?

Re: Chandelier

I think you are looking at a style sold as late as the 1990's though 1970 is most probable as you suggest.

If you look at one of the drops, if it's glass, it should be pretty heavy, lighter means plastic (lucite). That would also indicated that it's a newer version.

If glass, feel the ridges , if sharp then it's cut glass, but most likely it will feel smooth (press or molded glass).

Hope this helps!
