Japanese Maple leaf and Chinese pot

Profile picture for user Ninji
By Ninji, 12 March, 2009
Description

The Japanese Maple Leaf has a gold tint around the edges and on the leaf itself. There is a hole on the side of it which has a gold tint on this as well. On the back there is a Made in Japan inside a symbol which looks like a rosette or emblem, not sure. This is also in a gold tint.

The Chinese pot includes the base and a lid. It looks hand painted in blue ink and has a floral look about it, I believe that the Chinese mark on the bottom to be Jingdezhen Zhi. It is also stamped in blue.

Category
China
Medium
Both made out of Porcelain.
Distinguishing marks
The Japanese maple leaf has a Made In Japan stamped on it inside a symbol. This is all in a shiny gold. The Chinese pot has 4 chinese signs in blue ink stamped on the bottom, I believe that it is the Jingdezhen Zhi mark.
Condition
Excellent
Size and dimensions of this item
The Japanese maple leaf is just over 5 inches in height and exactly 5 inches in width. The Chinese pot is 4.5 inches in height and about 3 inches in width. They are both small items.
Date Period
Both items I think might be around the 1950's or later.
Weight
The Japanese maple leaf weighs 80g and the Chinese pot weighs 133g
History
I found the item when I was clearing out my late parent's cupboard, I had never seen these before and I never saw them buy them. So I assume that they may have been passed down.

Re: Japanese Maple leaf and Chinese pot

Both pieces are fairly modern 20th century items, the pair would sell for under $30.00 at auction.
