US Steel Advertising Rolled prints. Larger images from the book “Projections in Steel”. Art believed to be done by Sydney Mead.

Portfolio #1 – “The Manscape 1990” contains 6 prints:
1.“The City” Man1.jpg (top)
2.“Specialty Transportation” Man1.jpg (bottom)
3.“The Mall” Man2.jpg (top)
4.“City on Wheels” Man2.jpg (bottom)
5.“The USS Family of Steels” Man3.jpg (top)
6.“Airport: 1990” Man3.jpg (bottom)
Paper folder and prints are in near perfect condition. Prints are 11.25 x 32 in plus a flap that is printed with future concept verbiage as part of the advertising concept.

Portfolio #2 – “Science and Progress” contains 6 prints:
1.“Getting Around in 1990” Sci_Prog5.jpg (top)
2.“The Benefits of Research” Sci_Prog5.jpg (bottom)
3.“Feed Back” Sci_Prog6.jpg (top)
4.“Servo Mechanisms” Sci_Prog6.jpg (bottom)

6.“Sources of Power” Sci_Prog7.jpg (bottom)

Paper folder and prints are in fair to good condition, some marks on backs and edges, possible moisture problem. Prints are 11.25 x 32 in plus a flap that is printed with future concept verbiage as part of the advertising concept.

Portfolio #4 - “The Commonality” contains 5 prints, “Group Housing” is missing. Paper Folder and Prints are only in fair condition at best. The advertising flap has been cut off, evidence of having been used on a wall by a young person is apparent. Common11.jpg Prints spread out.

Rolled Prints from the Book “Projections in Steel”. Titles supplied are the titles from the page of the book where the art appears.

The Book “Projections in Steel” in near perfect condition, complete with the original embossed envelope/protective sleeve and the cardboard “Steel Selector” guide in the original shipping box. Book20.jpg and Book21.jpg.

I am sorry that I cannot produce higher resolution images of these items. They are way to big for my scanner, and my old Sony Mavica is the only digital camera that I own.

Post Script: I had planned to put about 20 pictures up here, covering this entire group of material. I am looking for its' value as a group.

The first 3 pictures are the prints from the "Manscape" Portfolio. The 4th pic is of the open book and the selecter card. The last pic is of a rolled print - picture from the book.

I have changed my alleged mind, I would like to sell all as a group.

The Book "Projections in Steel" that was listed on eBay 3/16/09 at $71.00 reserve not met, auction closed 3/22/09 8:00pm Reserve Met sale pending for $405.00.
