Merson symphony model violin

Description

Made in germany.  Inside the violin, it looks like original label is covered by another one.  Original shows from the bottom :"Faciabat Unno 1721  Made in Germany".  The top label says: Merson Violin made in Germany.  Serial no. 22255.  symphony Model.  Bow is in good condition.  Violin strings are broken or missing, but otherwise in good codition.  Case is by Ess & Ess co. in brooklyn, ny.

I just bought a similar violin... Merson symphony model... label doesn't give a year but say made in USSR occupied Germany... same case.

Mine needs some work but I showed it to a violin repair shop and he said once fix would be worth around $800. What have you heard? I'm not sure in the current market it would get $800. It has good tone just need some bridge work and new strings.

I'm not sure if I'll sell it as is or fix it play it or sell it.
