Landscape Painting, signed by EDWARD in lower right corner, oil painting

I purchased this painting at a rummage sale in La Crosse, WI. I have been looking for information about this piece for the entire time of owning it, as it has been nearly 10 years now.

The signiture is all caps as yo will see in the pictures below. Very nice painting!!

Nobody can really appraise a painting online, but based on your image this piece is an example of " Art on the Fence" or "Starving artist" travelling shows that sell art to the general public. If a painting sells well it is duplicated many times by the artist, in some cases by the hundreds and sold wholesale to the dealer that runs the show.

Generally the price of the art is low and the people who run the show make the majority of their profit "Upselling" the customers elaborate frames ;~) Values for these paintings is very modest even 30 years after they were originally painted, we see then sell all the time at auction for less than $100.00. That being said if you have any doubt at all about a painting you should contact a Specialist Appraiser, we use Sothebys.com.
