landscape oil painting signed by W.Morris

Description

    This oil painting has been in my family for a long time-it is a beautiful landscape painting in oil 0n an 8x10 wood panel surrounded by a gold ornately carved wood frame I was told that many years ago port jefferson was a shipping town and they used to have artists from all over the world selling their paintings.

 I have almost the EXACT same painting!

I found your listing here after searching for a while to find information about my painting.  After finding this site, I will probably post my painting on here as well.

My painting was given to me by my mother about 30 years ago and I don't know where she got it from.  I think she bought it from an art dealer for $2500 -$3500 back then.

Mine is the exact same style and signature as yours but mine is 36 inches wide and 24 inches tall.  The tree is where the boathouse is and the boathouse is on the side where your tree is and the shoreline is different.  But the style is definatly the same.  Even the boat looks the same!

If I find any more information, I will contact you.
