By KansasCollectables, 21 November, 2008
Description

Hello

I had pick up this painting today at a local thirft shop it had caught my eye because of the way its done like inpressionist style but i have been unable to find one like it marc chagall had sign m shagal but the last part of the name is hard to make out but the style is almot the same such as the main subject is not centered and the use of a spatial and brush strokes and such.It is done on a thick board rough on the back side and smooth on the painting side.It would be nice if it was his but you never know the majority of people that donate to the DAV are elderly so who knows please let me know what you think Thanks Austin

Re: M Shagal flower still life on board imperssionist oil

So if this is Marc Cgagall why is is signed M Shagal and if this is the case this has some value i would assume is their any way to get this proved i had held it up to a black light and their is a slight glow to the paint i had heard once that the old paints glowed that way the board is masonite fiber i had found out and was unsed in the early 1900s I had also posted some info on the sutter mill item he had the means for the door knobs from the employess he had comissioned I'll try to find that essay
