Edison Patent light fixture-chandelier type.

By sweetgal121984, 19 November, 2008
Description

I dont know much about the lamp, and when I try to upload pictures they are too large or something, but I can email pictures if you would like to see, the email address is [email protected], Im trying to find out something for my dad. My parents bought the house, and my mother has tried to get rid of it several times lol. My dad seems to take a fancy to it, so if its worth money, I know she'll let it stay.

Category
Lamps and Chandeliers
Medium
Brass
Distinguishing marks
It has bryant turn tabs for lighting, but on one of the casings it has parts of a word, all I can see is Edison Patent, it says something else right below and all I can see is 520v 50c. at the end bc the imprint is worn out.(Found it written on each bar, so I have updated the full name and what was written below bc one bar has it really good imprinted.) The light has 4 arms and on each arm, there is a face located on the front scrolling that sets behind each lighting cup. The faces are not like the northwind faces, but they are more slender and tribal like, tongue outstretched and angry in a way.

Excellent

Re: Gasolier Antique

edison patent may be the missing words...

the face may be a gargoyle or the legendary "green man"

Re: Gasolier Antique

Hi, thanks for trying to lend some help. I did manage to resize some pics and put them up of the guys face. I think you are possibly right about the legendary "green man" thing, but I am a newbie so Im still lost in antique translation.

Re: Gasolier Antique

I'd bet this fixture has always been electric. Gas fixture burners face upwards.

Re: Gasolier Antique

Ok, well thanks for that bit, Ive tried looking and looking about Edison Patent light fixtures, gasoliers, electroliers, chandeliers, and ears of liers til I cant think straight. I cant seem to find anything online, but its probably because I am searching using wrong key words. Do you know anything about Edison Patent, or when this could have been made?
