Yale and Towne Dome Top Trunk

By valsamuelson143, 17 January, 2015
Description

I was giving this trunk and I would love to know more on its history and what it is worth. I did try looking it up. looks like maybe early 1900's late 1800s'? on the latch it says Yale and Towne, this was used as a traveling trunk??,like we use our luggage today?. any help would be great! Does have a little dresser like pull out thing where people would put their clothes or shoes, i can get a picture added later ,just not by the trunk right now. also looks like it was painted over which i know that brings value down alot! so if there is a way i can safely remove paint or resore it would be great!  Has an old photo of a lady on the inside top dome .Thanks! It will be for sale as well. :-)
