Tribal Warhead / Deathmask

By khemist, 5 June, 2009
Description

purchased 20 years ago as a possible investment.
it initially came from a fairly mature eccentric gentleman who lived in very rich surroundings and was a collector of some weird and wonderful objects, and was well traveled`, all that can be remembered was he purchased it at source on one of those islands it was said to have mystifying powers and was used in ceremonies of war and death.

How much of this is true is anybody's guess.

However I liked it and felt it may have some value in the future, or not! this is why i am checking.

it has been in a box and only opened recently, it could do with a little TLC, however i was advised not to touch it.

The head can be worn, although most are scared to wear it and some people have had so called strange feelings whilst being around it!

I would be grateful to anyone who can shed some light on it.
Is it a tribal mask of some distant culture sacred and holds magical powers? Or is it simply a souvenir from Brighton?

Thanks
