Set of all glass lamps

By khess78, 29 September, 2008
Description

I inherited these two all glass lamps from my grandmother. They are all glass the base and the lamp shades. They do not have the wires any longer but do have the inside that holds the light bulb and the switch is attached to that. They are in mint condition no scratches or nicks of any kind. There is a beautiful flower design and "criss cross" design on the lamps shades and the base is a solid clear "frosted" glass. My grandmother told me that they are worth quite a bit and if she passed she would want me to sell them but I dont want to sell them with out knowing what I have. So if anyone knows anything please let me know. My family believes it could be Steuben glass but a collector I talked to online said he didnt believe so but that it may be Tiffin and he also said he had not seen anything like it. There are no marks or signatures to go on. They are very beautiful and we would rather a collector that would appreciate them have them instead of being "packed away" I hope to find some information on these soon!! Thanks for taking the time to look at my lamps.

History
The lamps were my grandmothers. My grandfather bought them for her as a gift. I know that they are from a glass company that is no longer in business and the company was around our area. (Steubenville, Ohio, Weirton,Wv, Pittsburgh, PA area) Some of my family members think that it may be Steuben Glass. A collector I talked to believed it could be Tiffin Glass. We are not sure.

Re: Set of all glass lamps

Products by "big name" makers such as Steuben or Tiffany are nearly always marked and most fairly well documented. Yours are 1930's Boudior lamps, and of a type made in great numbers prior to World War Two. At auction comparable pairs often sell for less than $75.00.
