This piece came from my grandparents from Indiana. Both were born and lived in Central Illinois and Lebanon, Indiana. They went to Christian Colleges and my grandfather became a methodist minister.
My grandmother, born Anna Lee, can trace her ancestry to General Robert E. Lee (I believe he was a cousin of her grandfather).
After they both died, one of the family still living in Illinois held on to the piece for several years until I moved Minnesota, at which time they told me they had some things from my grandparents and I went to get it. It has moved with me from Minnesota, to Ohio to Arizona.
The stone in the top is a deep purplish color, while others I have seen have all had white marble tops. The mirror glass appears to be original. I know I have it hung incorrectly, but there is a weak spot in the floor there that kept make the the mirror move on the dresser.
Thanks in advance for any additional info or value that anyone can supply.
